Adobe Acrobat Reader

Note: To view and print the IRS Forms, you first need to download and install onto your computer some free software called Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Click on the underlined link directly below to get Adobe Acrobat Reader. Then follow their instructions for downloading and installing the software application. Afterwards, you may follow the instructions below under the Using Adobe Acrobat Reader section to view and print the IRS forms. Note that this is a large file (about 4 Megabytes) and takes time to download.

Using Adobe Acrobat Reader
Note: You may find it helpful to print this page in order to read the instructions while performing the following steps.

After installing Adobe Acrobat Reader, perform the steps below to view and print the chosen IRS Form(s).

  1. Select Services button.
  2. Select Other Services.
  3. Select IRS Forms and Publications.
  4. Select Search For a Form or Publication.
  5. Type in a keyword according to the following table:

    To View / Print Form: Type in Keyword(s):
    1040 1040 form
    1040A 1040A form
    EIC eic form
    1040 Instructions 1040 instructions
    1040A Instructions 1040A instructions
  6. Click on Search.
Note: After the search results are displayed, always select the document with "Adobe PDF" at the end of the line.
For example, choose "1997 Form 1040A U.S. Individual Income Tax Return (53K) Adobe PDF."

Your browser will automatically launch Adobe Acrobat Reader to display the IRS form you selected. If desired, you can repeat the search for another form by pressing your browser's BACK button twice to enter another search. Otherwise, you may quit using the browser.
