THE EARNED INCOME CREDIT

Did you work in 1999?
Did you earn less than $30,580 and raise two or more children in your home?
Did you earn less than $26,928 and raise only one child?
Did you earn less than $10,200 and not raise any children?

If so, YOU MIGHT QUALIFY FOR THE EARNED INCOME CREDIT!!!

The Earned Income Credit (EIC) is a special tax benefit for low-income workers.  You can claim the EIC by filing a federal tax return.  This website will walk you through the steps of filing a tax return so that you can claim your EIC.
You will probably be able to get whatever tax forms you need to file your return off of this website.  To access, simply click on the form you need and print it out.  You can then use that printed version of the form to file your return.
Note:  In order to view these forms, you will need to use Adobe Acrobat Reader software.  This software is free and is fairly easy to download--click on the form you want and downloading instructions will appear.  If you are using a public computer, however, downloading this software may not be an option and you should go to your local federal building for the necessary tax forms.
