MARIN HOUSING

Created in 1942 under California Law, Marin Housing was given authority to develop, acquire, and manage housing for people with very-low income, low income, and moderate income. The mission of Marin Housing is to assist these residents access, secure, and maintain high quality affordable housing in Marin. 

The Marin Housing Assistline offers Homeless Prevention Services and referrals such as: rental assistance, emergency shelter, Renter Rebate Program, emergency food, transitional housing, furniture, clothing, affordable housing, and utility payment assistance. 

Marin Housing Programs include: 

  1. Section 8 Rental Assistance: rent certificates, vouchers and the Family Self Sufficiency Program. The Section 8 waiting list is currently closed.
  2. Homeowner Assistance: Below Market Rate Home Ownership                 Program, Residential Rehabilitation Loan Program
  3. Public Housing: Senior/Disabled Housing, Family Housing, Marin City
  4. Homelessness Prevention: Bay Area Homeless Alliance, Housing          Assistline, Rental Deposit Guarantee Program
